The final project of 2D Digital Animation Techniques was a short, under 20 seconds animated film using Toon Boom Harmony with an original character rig and environment art.
ABOUT
Lily is a 26-year-old plant lover and self-proclaimed plant expert with dreams of fame and fortune from her blog titled “Plant Mother”, but her long line of dead plants says otherwise. As her latest plant dies in comedically short time, she gets a great but not thought-out idea.
PROCESS
I started with a proposal document and then an animatic.
Next was a blocking pass with the character rig and environment art. The separate shots needed to be composited into one.

I built the character rig before the final film and completed a few exercises with her including a lip sync (audio credit: Mean Girls (2004)) and full body animation.
