The final project of 3D Digital Animation Techniques was a short, under 15 seconds animated film using Autodesk Maya and the Norman rig interacting with weight. I also modeled and textured the mailman's hat, package, mailbox, and ground plane (grass, sidewalk, road).
PROCESS
I began with a proposal document in which I decided Norman would should weight interaction through pushing. Next was a blocking pass with the Norman rig and the objects I modeled. (The house and streetlights I downloaded from TurboSquid, though I did not end up using the house in the final film.)
Next I spined the animation, added lighting, and used an HDRI downloaded from Poly Haven as a temporary background (which I also did not use in the final film).
Here is a previous exercise with the Norman rig for lip sync (audio credit: Avatar (2009)).
