Solar Systems Down is a 2D pixel art adventure shooter made with Unity. This game was made in 44 hours by Team Tart (four members) at the 2024 Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) Game Jam. I was the lead programmer and coded the branching dialogue system, weapon charge and fire mechanics, projectile mechanics, solar sail part system, solar meter system, solar cells, and player and enemy health systems. I was also a UI and level designer.
My itch.io page for the game is below:
ABOUT
The game jam theme was "sunshine," so the game takes place in a post-post-apocalyptic, solar-punk inspired world where people use solar power systems to live and keep the sludge away.
Enter Sol, our main character and solar systems engineer, living the nomadic life on his solar sail airship. When his solar sail crashes into a flooded town, the townspeople offer to give him the parts to fix it in exchange for repairing their house solar systems and destroying the invading sludge.
